About us

Cadence began with a simple dream: to bring joy, movement, and better health to local communities.

Jon grew up in Adelaide’s north east and, after years of working as a physiotherapist, saw a need for something different — a place where people could experience expert physiotherapy care alongside the power of Pilates, all in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Driving past a vacant shop in Dernancourt one day, Jon envisioned a space filled with movement and connection. With the support of his wife Katie, family, and friends, Cadence was built from the ground up — quite literally, with plenty of late nights, paint-splattered weekends, and a whole lot of coffee.

From the very beginning, Jon and Katie worked side-by-side to grow Cadence. Jon brought his expertise in physiotherapy, while Katie initially supported behind the scenes while working as an occupational therapist. As Cadence grew, so did Katie’s passion for the business and its potential to change lives through movement. A few years in, she made the bold decision to leave her OT career and step fully into Cadence, taking the lead on shaping the Cadence Pilates program and mentoring the next generation of instructors.

Her leadership, alongside Jon’s vision, has been integral to making Cadence the thriving community it is today.

What started as a one-man physiotherapy practice with a single reformer quickly grew as the community embraced our unique approach. Pilates became a cornerstone of our care model, and soon, Cadence Pilates was born.

Today, Jon and Katie lead a growing team across multiple locations, united by a shared mission: to bring joy to local communities through movement, connection, and care.

Our values — authentic relationships, precision and creativity, inclusiveness, teachability, and generosity — guide everything we do, from how we care for our clients to how we support and develop our incredible team.

Cadence is more than just a physio or Pilates studio. It’s a place where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to live well. And we’re only just getting started.

  • Jon founded Cadence with a clear vision: to create a space where people could access high-quality physiotherapy and the benefits of Pilates, all while feeling genuinely supported and connected to their local community.

A lifelong lover of sport and movement — especially running — Jon brings that same energy and drive to everything he does at Cadence. His passion for health and performance has led to strong partnerships with local sporting clubs, where he supports athletes through injury prevention, recovery, and performance coaching.

As Cadence has grown, Jon’s focus has shifted toward mentoring and developing physiotherapists, helping them grow both professionally and personally. He takes pride in building a team of physios who not only deliver exceptional care but also share his belief in proactive treatment and empowering clients to take control of their health.

For Jon, Cadence isn’t just a business — it’s a way to bring people together through movement, education, and community. Whether he’s coaching a client through a rehab program, inspiring his team with a new idea, or heading out for an early-morning run, Jon lives and breathes the joy of movement.

  • Katie’s journey with Cadence began behind the scenes while she was working as an occupational therapist. From the very start, she believed deeply in Jon’s vision to create a place where people could move well, recover, and thrive.

As Cadence grew, so did Katie’s passion for its potential to change lives through movement and community. A few years in, she made the courageous decision to leave her OT career to step fully into the business.

Today, Katie is the driving force behind Cadence Pilates, overseeing training and mentoring for our instructors and ensuring every class reflects the precision, care, and joy that define Cadence. She is passionate about developing people — helping instructors grow their skills, confidence, and careers while delivering incredible experiences to our members.

With her leadership, Cadence Pilates has evolved into a unique program that blends physiotherapy knowledge with a love of movement, making it accessible, safe, and empowering for everyone.

Katie’s role goes far beyond operations. She’s the heart of our community, nurturing a culture where both clients and staff feel seen, supported, and inspired.
