Frequently Asked Questions

When can I start Mums & Bubs Pilates after having a baby?

Every postnatal recovery is different. Before starting, you’ll need to complete a Cadence Physio Assessment or Women’s Health Physio Assessment so we can ensure your return to exercise is safe and appropriate for you.

Do I need a physiotherapy assessment before attending?

Yes. Before joining any Mums & Bubs class or program, you’ll need to have completed either a Cadence Physio Assessment or Women’s Health Physio Assessment. This allows us to understand your recovery and provide appropriate guidance during class.

Is there a recommended age for my baby?

For our Port Adelaide and Golden Grove programs, we recommend starting when your baby is around 6 months old or younger. This gives you a great starting point before your baby becomes more mobile. If your baby is older, contact our team to discuss the casual Dernancourt option.

What is the difference between the programs and casual classes?

Port Adelaide and Golden Grove offer structured 9-week programs that run each school term. These include 8 weekly Pilates classes and a Women’s Health Information Session. Dernancourt offers casual weekly classes, providing greater flexibility around your family’s schedule.

Can I bring my baby to class?

Absolutely. These classes are designed for you to attend with your baby. Your baby remains under your supervision throughout the session, and you’re always welcome to pause to feed, settle or change them when needed.

Is the 3 Class Starter Pack available at every location?

The $50 Mums & Bubs 3 Class Starter Pack is available at Dernancourt only. Port Adelaide and Golden Grove operate as structured school-term programs.

What are the benefits of postnatal Pilates?

Postnatal Pilates can support core strength, stability, posture, mobility and pelvic floor awareness while helping you gradually rebuild confidence in movement after pregnancy and birth.
