General Physiotherapy in Adelaide
Understand what’s going on. Build confidence. Get back to what matters.
Pain, stiffness or injury can make everyday movement feel harder. You do not need to know exactly what is causing your symptoms before booking — that is where a physiotherapy assessment can help.
At Cadence Physio & Pilates, our physiotherapists take the time to understand your symptoms, movement, lifestyle and goals. From there, we create a personalised plan that may combine hands-on treatment, exercise, education and practical strategies to help you move forward.
How we can help
Physiotherapy for pain, injury and everyday movement
General Physiotherapy can support a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns — whether your symptoms started suddenly, have gradually built up, or have been affecting you for some time.
- Back and neck pain or stiffness
- Shoulder, elbow, wrist or hand pain
- Hip, knee, ankle or foot pain
- Muscle strains and joint sprains
- Tendon and overuse injuries
- Sports and training-related injuries
- Work-related or repetitive-load concerns
- Arthritis and persistent joint conditions
- Recovery following surgery or immobilisation
- Reduced strength, mobility or confidence in movement
Your physiotherapist will assess your individual presentation and let you know whether physiotherapy is appropriate or whether another type of care may be more suitable.

The Cadence approach
A treatment plan built around you
Physiotherapy is not one-size-fits-all. Your treatment will be guided by what your assessment shows, what matters to you and how your body responds over time.
Assessment and explanation
We listen to your history, assess relevant movement, strength and function, and explain our findings in language that makes sense.
Hands-on treatment
Manual therapy and other hands-on techniques may be used when appropriate to help manage pain, stiffness and movement restrictions.
Exercise and rehabilitation
You may receive tailored exercises to rebuild strength, mobility and confidence. Where useful, your plan can connect with Cadence Refine.
Practical ongoing support
Clear advice, activity guidance and progressive goals help you manage your symptoms and keep moving between appointments.
Depending on your needs, your physiotherapist may also discuss options such as Dry Needling or other Cadence rehabilitation services. Nothing is added to your plan without discussing why it may be useful for you.

Questions about General Physiotherapy
Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. You can book a private physiotherapy appointment at Cadence without a doctor’s referral. A referral may be required for some Medicare, DVA, workers compensation or third-party pathways.
What happens at my first physiotherapy appointment?
Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, medical history and goals before assessing relevant movement, strength and function. They will explain their findings and, where appropriate, begin treatment and provide exercises or practical advice.
How long is a physiotherapy appointment?
An initial consultation typically takes 30–40 minutes. Most follow-up physiotherapy appointments are approximately 30 minutes.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your condition, symptoms, goals and response to treatment. After your assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss a plan with you and review it as you progress.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and gives your physiotherapist reasonable access to the area being assessed. If clothing needs to be adjusted or removed, your comfort and privacy will always be respected.
Can I claim physiotherapy through private health insurance?
Physiotherapy rebates may be available if your private health insurance includes extras cover. Rebate amounts vary between funds and levels of cover. HICAPS claiming is available at Cadence so eligible rebates can generally be processed on the day.
